Stuart Christie was born on 10 July 1946 in Partick, Glasgow, United Kingdom. He became a prominent anarchist thinker, writer, and activist over his lifetime.
In the course of his life, he was known for his direct action initiatives and for co-founding the Anarchist Black Cross, an organization that supports political prisoners. He was also a prolific author, with his writings greatly contributing to the anarchist movement, including modern anarcho-communist theory. He was instrumental in publishing libertarian literature through his involvement with the agitator press and later through the establishment of his own publishing company. Stuart Christie died on 15 August 2020.
