Jules Bonnot

Jules Bonnot - Anarchist and Bank Robber

Jules Bonnot was born on October 14, 1876, in Pont-de-Roide, France. He became infamous as the leader of the Bonnot Gang (also known as Auto Bandits), a French criminal anarchist group that was well-known for their use of automobiles and newly modern weaponry. Bonnot was a follower of illegalism, a philosophy that illegal acts were acceptable in the pursuit of an anarchist society.

Bonnot died in a shootout with the police on April 28, 1912. While his life and actions were controversial, his commitment to his political beliefs and the audacity of his exploits caught the public imagination. Some consider him to have been a precursor to the ‘public enemy era’ of the 1930s, setting a new standard for high-profile criminality. His activities also ignited significant debate within the anarchist movement about the role and acceptability of illegal activities.

I am not appreciated in this society. I have the right to live, and while your imbecilic criminal society tries to stop me, well too bad for it, too bad for you!
We'll burn off our last round against the cops, and if they don't care to come, we'll certainly know how to find them.
